The intermediate scale multi-storey flame spread test apparatus conforms to the requirements specified in the NFPA 285 test standard.
The unit is a laboratory test apparatus used to measure the spead of flame on the face of a wall assembly when the fire exits a window opening measuring 78'' wide by 30'' high. The results determine the flammability of exterior wall faces for conformance to building code requirements.
